Meet Our Doctors
Dr. Kate Kerr-Lawson
Dr. Kate Kerr-Lawson graduated from Dentistry in 1991 from the University of Western Ontario. She had always dreamed of living in a small town near water, with the ability to practice all aspects of dentistry. She moved to Kincardine with her husband upon graduation and worked as an associate in Chesley, Ontario for 3 years before having the opportunity to work at Lakeview Dental Services.
In 1996 she became a full partner with Dr. Hickling and has continued to do all aspects of general dentistry in this setting. Kate offers hospital dentistry to patients who require a general anaesthetic for extraction of wisdom teeth, fillings and extractions. She is also, after much study, placing dental implants( since 2005) for patients that have lost a tooth, or require implants to hold their denture in place.
When Lakeview Dental was selected by the Ontario Dental Association as one of the model offices in the province, Kate had the opportunity to participate in a workshop that produced a “ Best Practices” manual for Ontario dentists. She has been a council member of the ODA and has served as President of the local dental society. Dr. Kerr-Lawson stays active with cycling, skiing, and yoga but mostly she enjoys time with her family.
Dr. Lee Hickling
Dr. Hickling and his family moved to Kincardine in 1978, just after graduating from The University of Western Ontario. He has been practising in the same location ever since. The practice has grown steadily and has seen 2 major expansions, the last one featuring a second-story addition, in 2007. The office has evolved from a one-chair operation with 2 employees to 9 dental operatories and a staff of 21. Lee has been active in organized dentistry, serving as president of the local dental society, and as a councilor for the Ontario Dental Association. His passion is third world dentistry. For many years he has been participating in volunteer dentistry in many remote areas of the world, including Peru, Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua, Nunavut, Ecuador, Uganda, Bolivia, The Amazon River, and , in 2016, Cambodia. Dr. Hickling has constantly pursued continuing education and new technology. He is a certified Invisalign™ provider. Now that his three children have grown and left the nest, Lee is enjoying his five grandchildren, as well as his many interests, including photography, cycling, hiking the Bruce Trail, and music.
